Government Bureau Decides on New WSIS PrepCom

Apparently, the most recent meeting of the WSIS Government Bureau has decided that there will a reconvened PrepCom III, to be held 10-14 November in Geneva. They have also announced that there will NOT be any fellowships available for travel or participation in the reconvened PrepCom (many of the developing countries and civil society groupings have received substantial support to participate in the previous preparatory processes). This means that those developing countries and civil society organizations that are not well financed, or do not have a substantial presence in Geneva are going to be at a substantial disadvantage. We have to think about the implications for our study. Perhaps we should introduce the intervention earlier, and change the study design.

Cool System

Hmmm, a running, public (or is it?) discussion board? Now we'll all have to watch our spelling and grammar :) Fun stuff. I'm looking forward to our meeting this morning.

Busy week...

This week, Cotelco will be continuing planning for our study of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS). Having just returned from the Third Preparatory Committee (PrepCom III), we are now working through all of my field notes, thoughts and observations, as well as revisions to our data collection instruments based on the pilot testing. Exciting stuff!!!

Jumping in...

Just a few blogging words here from me to test this out. I'm off now to do the new survey.

Updated Fields on the Blog

I've added two new fields on the entry form for the Cotelco Blog, one for a title if you want, and another for a url if you want.
Thanks Soo-yeon. I've changed the time stamp now. It should be accurate.
Hi. I added the Cotelco Blog link to the Cotelco Web site. You can find the link at the bottom of the Resources Quick Link (at the left-hand column of every page,) and on the Resources page.

By the way, the timestamp seems to be based on the California time, not the Eastern standard time used in Michigan. Derrick, can you change this in the preferences?
This is the first post on the new Cotelco Blog. Enjoy!
